NY-Groove eh? would that be a cover of the (KISS- Ace Frehley classic?(great tune..)
I've read about it, but seem to have a helluva time finding any.
Heard 2 songs each from the bands Hello (NY Groove and Tell Him) and Catapult (Let Your Hair Hang Down and Teeny Bopper Band).
Does anyone have any????
Love what I've heard from both.
Looks like they might just be imports, but hopefully someone has 'em.
If anyone can give me any more info, good tunes to look up, etc, that would be cool too.

Actually, Hello did it first. There is a compilation CD for Hello available thru Amazon.com, and a CD called Junk Shop Glam also available thru the same source. That CD is a comp of various of those songs.
Hello's NYG resembles "Givin' It Up For Your Love" by Delbert McClinton and "Hey, Little Girl" by Brownsville Station, plus the 4/4 stomp of Hamilton Bohannon's early music.
Er !! thanks for clearing that up .. i think?
"If it looks like sh*t, tastes like Sh*t and smells like sh*t, you can pretty much guarantee its gonna be sh*t ! (L.O.l) .. ("Hardly the flair of The Prometheus Society quote.."):-)
Thanx Jay. I figured you'd be able to help a bit.
Is that JSG comp worth the money? I'll try to check out some of the others you mentioned.
Have you heard Catapult. Great old tune. Another cool one is Bonnie St. Claire-Clap Your Hands, Stamp your Feet. Also Kenny-Julie Ann and Racey's-Kitty

I think you need to work on your quotes
<font size="4" face="Arial">There are several comps in that vein that are worth the money. The Bonnie ST Claire tune is on several comps. The song "Little Boy Blue" by Angel(not the DC band), which had Sweet connections, is great, has that 4 on the floor percussive sound. The singles that Cozy Powell did for RAK are also great, such as "NaNaNa". They are also on various comps. "Kitty," the basis for Toni Basil's hit "Mickey." "Bang, Bang Bullet," by Streak is great as well.Originally posted by glamfly:

I'll throw up some links later.
Thanks Jay...links would be good. I did find one good link already. The glam bear one.....but any help is great. The 4 on the floor percussion is exactly what I'm really digging the more I hear.
Barry Blue's "Dancin' on a Saturday Night" and "Miss Hit and Run" are good too.
Here's a link to comp of Hello. I have this one. http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg...music&n=507846
You can hear how their version of NYG sounds different than Ace's. The comp on sale with the Hello CD is great as well. I have that also.
In case it wasn't clear, the Hello single was released here in the USA and Ace covered it.
